Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) Now in Feature Freeze, First Beta to Land August 25

The Feature Freeze development stage means that no new features will be implemented in the upcoming OS, and the development team should now concentrate all of their efforts on fixing the remaining bugs before the final release of Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) hits the streets on October 13, 2016. We’re approaching very fast to the first Beta release of Ubuntu 16.10, which has been in development since April 28 this year, and it looks like the Beta 1 freeze and release has been set for this coming Thursday, August 25, but will only be available for opt-in flavors like Ubuntu MATE, Kubuntu, Ubuntu Studio, Ubuntu GNOME, and Xubuntu.
