Ubuntu 19.10 (Eoan Ermine) was released nine months ago, on October 17th, 2019. Highlights included the GNOME 3.34 desktop environment series, the Linux 5.3 kernel series, as well as initial support for ZFS as the root file system, an implementation available via the Ubiquity graphical installer. But Ubuntu 19.10 is not an LTS (Long Term Support) release. This means that Canonical only offered support for nine months. Therefore, as of July 17th, 2020, Canonical will no longer provide security and software updates for Ubuntu 19.10 users.
