Of course, the first thing you want to know is the feature list.
You will be surprised to see the number of features that have been
added to 9.10. There are a few cases where some of the features are
major changes to the distribution as a whole. Let’s take a look and
see.

“Upstart: Upstart replaces the /sbin/init daemon which handles
the starting of services during the boot process.

“Boot process: A brand new boot process has been worked in to
make the boot of Ubuntu even faster than it was in 9.04. It is. The
boot process for Linux is getting scary fast. Figure 1 shows the
new Ubuntu boot screen. The goal of the 10 second start up is
growing ever within reach.”
