“So why does Zimmerman/Ubuntu think that DEX can succeed where
the DCCA failed?

“‘DCCA was an attempt to standardize a la LSB. DEX is more
pragmatic, about merging code from derivatives into Debian,’
Zimmerman responded to me.

“LSB – Linux Standard Base is an interesting idea as well, which
still exists, though I’m not sure it has as much impact as it
should.”
