VARBusiness: Caldera Pushes ‘Linux For Business’ At PC Expo

“With a steady stream of show-goers picking up free Linux CDs in
the background, Caldera Systems Inc. promoted its ‘OpenLinux Tour’
at PC Expo this week and sought to sign up VAR partners.

“According to Wilson Lee, Caldera channel marketing manager,
“We’re answering the question, ‘How can VARs make money selling
open source software?'”

“Lee says the interest among VARs in Linux comes at both ends of
the business scale. “We’re seeing a lot of interest from high-end
systems integrators, and also from SMB VARs–those selling to
vertical markets with 50 or fewer desktops,” such as medical
offices.”
