VNU Net: SCO Forum: Intel about to launch Unixware based Internet appliance

“The Santa Cruz Operation (SCO) is about to add Intel to the
list of OEMs for its ‘Unix on a Megabyte’ initiative,
which is aimed at blackbox devices and Internet appliances.

The supplier launched the Unixware based scheme at its SCO Forum
user conference in Santa Cruz last year… but has so far only
recruited Compaq, which started shipping its Neo Internet appliance
in January in the US.”

“Tamar Newberger, SCO’s director of server product marketing,
said at this year’s SCO Forum: ‘We’re working with Intel on an
Internet appliance, which it will announce very soon, and we’re
also evaluating other OEMs.’ “
