“Version 3.0 now merges WordPress MU (multi-user) and WordPress,
allowing users to manage multiple sites using the same
installation. A new menu management feature has been added and
child theme support has been improved. The release includes a new
default Twenty Ten theme, replacing the Kubrick theme. Although
Kubrick and the Classic themes will no longer be included in the
distribution, they will still be available from the Themes
repository.

“Other changes include support for custom theme backgrounds and
the ability to bulk update themes. The contextual help system has
been expanded, a new comment form tag has been added and various
improvements have been made to custom post types and custom
taxonomies.”
