Raleigh’s WRAL TV has a story about Red Hat Software, who is
based out of Research Triangle Park, a city within the
Raleigh-Durham area of North Carolina.

“Microsoft is often seen as the bad guy by computer
professionals. That is probably due to its near-monopoly powers and
willingness to buy or crush competitors. But a Triangle company is
making a dent in Microsoft’s domain. “

I met with a technical person from WRAL last spring, and was
told that WRAL uses Linux for some functions, and even paid an
employee’s way to the 1998 Linux Expo. -editor
