LMC … announced its plans to fully embrace several open source
operating systems, including NetBSD, FreeBSD, BSD/OS, and Linux,
for its WAN Adapter product line.

LMC’s Chief Operating Officer Dave De Puy, stated, “It’s not at

open source operating systems, like Linux, FreeBSD and others are
winning out over proprietary systems for bandwidth intensive
networking systems. Users want the freedom to choose within a
framework of standards, whether at the system bus, the line
interface, or the operating system level. We want to ensure our
users have exactly that kind of flexibility.”
