M-Systems Flash Disk Pioneers Ltd. announced today the
DiskOnChip(R) Millennium series, the industry’s first single-chip,
monolithic flash disk. The DiskOnChip Millennium was developed and
introduced in partnership with Toshiba Corp., who will also
manufacture the DiskOnChip for M-Systems.

“The attractiveness of DiskOnChip Millennium series lies in its
ability to provide a fully-integrated flash disk solution at a cost
comparable to raw flash, while providing complete flash disk
functionality…” said Chuck Schouw, president of M-Systems
Inc.

“A large portion of the flash market is industrial, embedded
applications that value the ruggedness and reliability of flash
memory. Dataquest sees a rising demand for flash chips with
integrated interfaces, especially if they have support included in
Windows CE,” said Bruce Bonner, principal analyst, Dataquest.

DiskOnChip provides support for all major O/Ss, including …
Linux.
