ZDNet: Caldera Trial: Chalk One Up For Microsoft

“Microsoft Corp. received a breather today from its seemingly
endless round of legal battles, when the judge overseeing the
Caldera Inc. vs. Microsoft antitrust case moved the trial start
date back to Jan. 17, 2000.”

“Caldera has not requested a specific damage amount in its case,
but one of its expert witnesses has used the $1.6 billion figure as
an estimate in his findings, Caldera officials acknowledged.”

“We want to make sure we’re fully prepared for a case with so
many issues,” said Microsoft spokesman Jim Cullinan, explaining why
Microsoft requested the delay. “We are pleased that the judge
granted our request.”
