“Metrowerks Corp.’s Code Warrior for Red Hat Linux GNU Edition
brings CodeWarrior’s graphical IDE to the Linux platform, easing
the transition to Linux for C/C++ programmers with Windows or
Macintosh experience but with no Unix background.

The product contains no compilers, assemblers, debuggers or
linkers of its own but rather integrates with the free,
public-domain GNU and EGCS (Experimental GNU Compiler Suite) tools
supplied with both Red Hat Software Inc.’s Red Hat Linux and
CodeWarrior. The same tools can be downloaded from
egcs.cygnus.com.

Those new to Unix programming will welcome the ease of
learning and use
in CodeWarrior’s simple, unified graphical
programming environment, especially if they are familiar with
CodeWarrior on another platform. However, programmers who are
familiar with the Unix shell programming environment
, make
files, and the Visual Interface or EMACS editor will find
little value in the product.”
