“…the Red Hat Linux Enterprise Edition product line. On Feb.
22, Red Hat announced versions for CA’s products, Oracle and SAP
R/3.”

“More than just Red Hat tuning their Linux to make the most of a
given applications, the company has partnered with the products’
vendors to create optimized solutions with a customized operating
system and application pairing. In addition, the lines incorporate
technical and enterprise support and simplified configuration.”

“All of these customized changes are making some open-source
advocates wonder if Red Hat is wandering into building proprietary
additions to Linux.

replies ‘that [Red Hat] will continue to freely share all
modifications to the Linux OS with the open-source community under
public licenses.’ “
