ZDNet UK: IBM reveals Linux options

“IBM has revealed more details of its Linux initiatives,
although last year’s suggestion that it would give away Linux
versions of some applications has been quietly dropped. IBM
executives said that as it is now a mainstream platform, versions
of its software for Linux would be priced on a par with NT
versions.”

“IBM currently plans to work only with the four major commercial
distributions of Linux — from Caldera, Pacific Hitech, RedHat and
SuSE…”

“Prial said his first priority was to get all of IBM’s
server-side programming infrastructure ported, including the
WebSphere application server and the DB2 database…”
