“It’s safe to say that Microsoft and Open Source will not be
joining Astaire and Rogers or Hepburn and Tracy on the list of
great partnerships in history, and recent announcements show that
Microsoft is still struggling to reconcile its desire to benefit
from the powerful open source community with its desire to isolate
Linux.

“On the side of reconciliation, Microsoft recently announced
that it will make available the source code for IronRuby, its
implementation of the Ruby programming language for the .NET
Framework. And for the first time, Microsoft will accept changes
from the community as well…”
