Powered by the latest and most advanced Linux 4.7 kernel, which adds support for many new hardware components, AryaLinux 2016.08 comes after four months of development as a drop-in replacement for the AryaLinux 2016.04 release. New features include an entirely new system built from scratch using the latest GCC (GNU Compiler Collection) 6 compiler, and the newest Linux From Scratch version. Another major change in the AryaLinux 2016.08 release is the upgrade of the MATE desktop environment from version 1.12 straight to the 1.15 build, which is currently under testing for many other GNU/Linux distributions. In the same manner, the Qt-based supported desktop environments like KDE Plasma 5 and LXQt have been added in AryaLinux 2016.08 using the latest Qt5 toolkit.
