Google Releases July 2019’s Android Security Patch to Fix over 30 Security Flaws

Consisting of the 2019-07-01 and 2019-07-05 security patch levels, July 2019’s Android Security Patch is here to address a total of 33 security vulnerabilities affecting Android devices, which were discovered in the Android system, framework, library, media framework, as well as Qualcomm components, including closed-source ones. The most critical flaw was discovered in Android’s Media framework. Apart from all the security fixes, the Android Security Patch for July 2019 also fixes various bugs for supported Pixel devices. As such, it improves the “OK Google” hotword and music detection on Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL, Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL devices, and addresses an issue for some Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL devices getting stuck during boot.
