First way is to download the Linux distribution you want and burn it on a dvd or usb stick and boot your machine with it and complete the installation process
Second way is to install it virtually on a virtual machine like virtualbox or vmware and continue working on your windows or mac system without rebooting so your linux system will be contained on a window you can minimize it and continue working on your system.
