LinuxTag 1999, probably
the biggest Linux Event in Germany besides CeBIT, will take place in
Kaiserslautern, Germany on June 26-27.
With nearly 60 exhibitors, three parallel conference tracks and
lots of other highlights, it is a must for every Linux enthusiast
in Germany, if not in Europe.
For more Information, please see http://www.linuxtag.de/
At the LinuxTag June 26-27th in Kauserslautern, Germany, there
will be an open discussion about “Free Software in the Public
Sector” — Linux in public institutions.
Attendees will be representatives from:
- the state Rheinland-Pfalz
- the SPD, biggest political
party in Germany - the bsi – “Bundesamt für
Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik” (a governmental security
organisation) - Microsoft Germany
GmbH - the Linux Community
It seems that this will be a hot discussion, since the German
states Rheinland-Pfalz, Baden-Württemberg und
Nordrhein-Westfalen have already made deals with Microsoft to use
their products.
