“Network Associates is getting ready to jump on the Linux
bandwagon.

The company will unveil version 2.5 of CyberCop Scanner, its
first product for the hot operating system, on Monday.

The Linux version will replace a version of the software that NA
offered for Sun Microsystems’ Solaris platform.

Already shipping on Windows NT, CyberCop Scanner is a
risk-assessment tool aimed at consultants and resellers who want to
offer network-vulnerability testing to their clients.

The product is also designed for corporate customers that want
to run periodic scans of their networks to detect and avert some
500 potential security risks, company officials said. CyberCop
Scanner also ranks problems in order of severity.”
