“Anticipating this demand, in late 1998 GX Technology
introduced its new-generation Primus(TM) 3D prestack depth imaging
service, tuned for maximum performance on a state-of-the-art 36-CPU
DEC Alpha cluster running Linux. The facility was increased to
100 nodes in the first half of 1999, and by the end of November GXT
will have expanded its computing capacity to over 500 nodes of
parallel supercomputing, the majority of which consists of DEC
Alpha and Sun clusters installed at GXT.”
