Linux Journal: Linux For Suits is up at On24.com

Listen to the live recordings of Linux For Suits at
Internet World on October 6….

“The New Products Showcase panel featured a hearty exchange
between Bernd Wuebben of KDE and Nat Friedman of Gnome. At one
point, Linus’ head hit the table from laughing at Nat’s description
of Bonobo, the part of Gnome which is named after rare hypersexual
chimpanzees. Bernie Thompson of CoSource.com and Michael Cowpland
of Corel were also on the panel. Bernie was the big surprise,
coming through with a lot of original ideas about how Linux plays
in the business world.”

“The Open Source Business Models panel featured Esther Dyson’s
masterful moderation and included Cliff Miller of TurboLinux,
Fernand Sarrat of Linuxcare, Ted Schlien of Kleiner Perkins, Paul
McNamara of Red Hat, Dan Kusnetsky of IDC and Eric Raymond of the
Open Source Initiative. Cliff Miller must have bit his tongue at
the tonsils when Esther challenged him on the subject of venture
funding. At the moment, he didn’t appear to have any, but in fact
he was only days away from announcing big investments from Intel,
August Capital and Benchmark – three blue-chip funding
partners.”
