“Agreement Provides Linux Users With A Tested And
Fully-Automated Backup Solution”

Quadratec Software, developer of the award-winning Time
Navigator® automated backup and restore software application,
and Exabyte Corporation
(NASDAQ: EXBT ) today announced a strategic alliance to provide
Linux users with fully-certified, automated backup solutions for
this growing market. The alliance will conduct benchmark testing
and joint promotions of high-performance Exabyte Mammoth-2 (M2)
tape drives and libraries with Quadratec’s Time Navigator software,
the first backup and restore software application to support
complete automated data storage of Linux servers and clients.”

“Exabyte’s M2 tape libraries have the highest rack density of any
midrange tape library on the market. With out-of-band Ethernet
management and low power usage, M2 tape libraries are the products
of choice with ISP, ASPs and Co-location environments. All M2 tape
libraries combine M2’s half-high form factor and
performance-leading 12 MB/sec transfer rate with Exabyte’s robust
automation expertise to ensure 24X7 reliability, unattended backup
and scalable products to customers. M2 products are “Linux
Compatible for Backup” certified by the Linux Tape Device
Certification program and certified for Quadratec’s Time Navigator
software.”

“Many Linux users are reporting data growth rates of 20 percent per
month or more,” said Ken Cruden, Exabyte’s director of marketing.
“Add M2’s high performance to an Exabyte library and users get
unsurpassed capacity, scalability and reliability. Now, thanks to
the Exabyte-Quadratec relationship, restoring lost data is no
longer an issue and Linux users have a tested and affordable
automation solution.”
