“I find that a lot of people still miss the point about what
Android as an open source project is. I’ve talked about it in the
past, but it seems that there’s some holes that I still haven’t
explained. I was reading an article that talked about Android being
the “new Linux” and why it’s a bad thing (I suggest reading this
article first) and I had a hard time agreeing with majority of what
was being argued.The author of this article seems to not really understand the
major differences. He starts by making a connection between the
fall of desktop Linux and Android and then goes on to talk about
Amazon. But in all honesty, I think he misses the point. The game
is very different with Android, and there are some very key factors
that will make it’s destiny different than Linux and make it a
strong standard
