Allaire Corp. has developed new open-source technology that can
pass data between Web applications using XML.

The Cambridge, Mass., company’s WDDX (Web Distributed Data
Exchange) enables developers to pass data between heterogeneous Web
servers running ASPs (Active Server Pages), Perl, Java, JavaScript
or components built with Allaire’s Cold Fusion fourth-generation
language tool.
