BW: Little Guys Look for Big Breaks at the LinuxWorld Conference & Expo…

“Sometimes, the corporate food chain can be downright
unpleasant. The little guys wage a constant battle to avoid being
eaten by the big guys, who are grabbing all the venture capital,
getting all the press coverage, and giving away the coolest
promotional freebies every chance they get. It can be tough, even
demoralizing for small companies, and much of the time the only
thing that keeps them afloat is “the dream.”

“Little companies can have big dreams. In fact, they can
have monster-truck sized dreams. Some of them do, and take a major
step toward turning them into reality when they show up at
LinuxWorld Conference & Expo.
You know the type. They’re
easy to spot. They’re the CEOs and Marketing Directors who wear
looks of steely determination. Their expressions say, “We don’t
take no for an answer. We are here to hear yes.” At any moment, one
“yes” could change a company’s entire future.”

“The hottest show is LinuxWorld Conference & Expo,” says Jim
Truong, president, AMAX Computers. “It gets a tremendous amount of
publicity worldwide, especially in San Jose. The trend is a lot of
little companies trying to catch up to big companies. A lot of them
go to the show to see if they can form partnerships. Linux is here
to stay, it’s stable, and people want to be part of that.”
