CBC News: Microsoft invests in Rogers

“Software giant Microsoft Corp. is investing $600 million in
Rogers Communications as part of an alliance that will attempt to
change the way Canadians watch television.”

“Under the deal, announced Monday, the companies will provide
interactive television services in Canada that will combine
broadcast services, interactive video and audio programming, and
the Internet.”

“‘By using Microsoft’s television platform, Rogers will be able
to deliver new services that fully utilize the broadband
infrastructure, thereby enabling a great information, entertainment
and communications experience for their customers.'”
