Linux will make an appearance at Windows World this year!
Following LAID last November, Mark Egan of Scope was very impressed
by what we had achieved at the conference. A few months later he
mailed me to ask if we would be interested in hosting a stand at
e-XPO (or Windows World as it was formally known as).
Reaction
to the offer was mixed from the Irish Linux Community. Some were
against the idea, but many others were and still are enthusiastic
about it. It was decided in the end to go ahead with the stand and
soon a group of volunteers gathered to man the stand.”

“The stand will be manned throughout the length of the
exhibition by at least 2 people. We’ll have 2 machines, kindly lent
to us by PC Pro. Both will demo various aspects of Linux, from
desktop usage to examples of server software. You’ll have no
trouble catching any of us outside of the booth either, at least
some of us will be wearing Linux tshirts, printed with help from
Voyager Internet in Waterford.”
