DowJones.com: Red Hat Founder Invests In Canadian Venture-Capital Firm XDL

“The chairman and co-founder of Red Hat Inc., a popular provider
of the Linux computer-operating system, announced he has invested
in Canadian venture-capital fund XDL Intervest.

Robert Young, a Canadian, will join XDL’s advisory
board.
He will be the largest individual investor in
XDL’s 140 million Canadian dollars (US$96.8 million) fund, though
institutions have invested more.

Young didn’t disclose the exact size of his investment. XDL’s
three principals invested nine million Canadian dollars between
them in the fund. Based in Toronto, XDL invests in high-tech
start-ups.”
