InfoWorld: VA Linux to host online repository for open-source projects

Trying to sustain the momentum from its red-hot initial
public offering last month, VA Linux Systems on Tuesday announced
plans for an online repository capable of simultaneously handling
over 700 open source projects.

“The company also announced that it has locked up a deal with
NetLedger, a prominent accounting ASP backed by Oracle Chairman
Larry Ellison. Under the agreement, VA Linux will supply NetLedger
with Linux-based servers along with a variety of integration
management services to bolster the ASP’s application server
infrastructure, officials said.

“In a third announcement, the company said that Bob Russo,
former senior executive with Synopsys and Cray Research, has been
made general manager and executive vice president of worldwide
field operations.”
