“Open Source philosophy seems to be the gift that keeps on
giving. Now hardware joins software in becoming available to the
community’s developers. The Open Source Equipment Exchange (OSEE)
was designed to freely give back to the Open Source community and
to encourage its developers, according to Charles Epstein, public
relations spokesman for the project.”

“This project puts the community above any type of organization
and targets the developer working out of a basement or a garage,”
Epstein said. “We’re going to be able to provide you with the
infrastructure to do that, with the understanding that it’s done in
the collaborative spirit of the Open Source community.”

“The site was designed with developers in mind, but DeRosa
doesn’t rule out other uses. “Basically, this is a place for people
who have equipment to get with people who need equipment,” said Bob
DeRosa, CTO of the Web site’s parent, BASCOM.”
