“The Open Source Writers Group (http://www.oswg.org) has been busy in
recent weeks, and is pleased to announce that a number of documents
have been added to and updated in its documentation set. These
documents include:
- GCC HOWTO – Dan Barlow (in need of a new maintainer)
- Lilo mini-HOWTO – Cameron Spitzer and Alessandro Rubini
- RPM HOWTO – Donnie Barnes
- “The Risks of Closed Source Computing” – Alan Cox
- “An Introduction to SCSI Drivers” – Alan Cox
- “Cathedrals, Bazaars, and Town Councils” – Alan Cox
The OSWG is a community project whose primary goal is to improve
the overall quality and quantity of free open-source and
open-content documentation. All OSWG activities are related to this
primary goal.
In addition to these updates, the OSWG has completed the setup
of a CVS system for documentation and the creation of scripts that
automatically generate all documents daily. This system ensures
that the documentation available through the website reflects the
most recent documentation additions and changes. Note also that
this system is open and available to anyone working on open-source
or open-content documentation. Contact editor@oswg.org for details.”
