osOpinion: The Sun-Microsoft legal dispute or why it’s still relevant

…Microsoft’s hijacking JAVA by trying to neutralize it,
makes the court case quite relevant and is also the reason why Sun
took Microsoft to court. So let’s review the events that led to the
“irrelevant” court case.

“…The Appeal court basically judged that Sun has satisfied the
legal burden of proof of breach of contract and that Microsoft’s
conduct was unreasonable. If Microsoft loses the case, it’ll be
because the company can’t be trusted…”

“The ultimate significance of this case is that an Appeals court
has warned Microsoft that its most valuable asset: its word and the
trust it should engender is being squandered by its bad faith.”
