Intel-based systems strategy on Monday, sources said, and Linux
will be a centerpiece, not an afterthought.”

“SGI’s long-term strategy is to use Intel to build
more-affordable high-end systems with IA-64 running IRIX. In the
midrange, I’m betting the company will put a more concerted effort
into Linux than NT on Intel.”
