“Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE: CPQ) today announced major
enhancements to its high availability AlphaServer systems, and
introduced NonStop(TM) eBusiness solution infrastructure
capabilities with Oracle on Compaq Tru64 UNIX and TruCluster
Server. These robust clustered systems are significantly less
costly and easier to purchase, install and manage than competing
cluster offerings, and give enterprise customers an exceptional
operational advantage critical to their e-business success.”

“”Compaq is delivering on increased customer demand for powerful
and flexible systems that are easier to manage, operate reliably in
a 24×7 environment, and achieve extensive upward scaling,” said
Bill Heil, Vice President and General Manager of Compaq’s Business
Critical Server Division. “Customers with demanding e-business
computing requirements can rely on Compaq AlphaServers running
Tru64 UNIX and TruCluster Server to provide industry- leading
performance with Oracle8i, Oracle Applications 11i, and Oracle
Parallel Server. The range of systems and solutions announced today
also provide exciting opportunities for ISPs and ASPs to install
high performance AlphaServer systems in very high density
configurations, and give customers the critical capabilities they
need for business success.””

“These platforms support Tru64 UNIX, OpenVMS or
Linux.”
