PRNewswire: Performance Computing Names 1999 Outstanding Product Award Winners

“Performance Computing magazine, published by Miller Freeman
Inc., today announced the recipients of their eighth annual
Outstanding Product Awards. Singled out by the magazine’s editorial
staff and contributors, recipients and their products are
recognized for their efforts in advancing the state of the
enterprise-computing industry.”

“This year’s Outstanding Product Award winners exemplify the
diversity of products found in the enterprise as well as the
dedication of the award recipients to create best-of-brand
products,” said Editor-in-Chief Ralph Barker.”

In the spirit of this year’s Editor’s Award winners,
Performance Computing’s editors stepped outside the box and awarded
the 1999 Editor’s Award to the “legions of Linux contributors,” an
honor usually reserved for individuals. The editors chose to
recognize the Linux community for volunteering their talents toward
a new method of software development and proving the viability of
an open source business model in the process.
