“I recently wrote an article outlining my predictions for
Vista’s share of the operating system market with a general
conclusion that it should follow the trend XP set–claiming around
40% in the first two years through the decline of the older
Microsoft systems. However someone under the username ‘Loki’ posed
a couple of questions that he/she felt disproved the projection,
which got me thinking…“The thoughts expressed were that:
- “That the requirements for Vista are very different than for XP
(relative to current hardware)- “That the OS market is very different from when XP launched
with lots of ‘early adopter’ negative sentiment- “More mature OS alternatives for the desktop in the free
segment…”
