Sun Microsystems slams Windows NT in 2-page Wall Street Journal Advertisement.

Thanks to Rusty
Haddock
for this.

Sun put a 2-full page ad in the center of the Marketplace
section of the WSJ yesterday (11/4/98). Now, keep in mind that
Sally Struthers, for those of you how remember television’s “All in
the Family”, used to do a bunch of commercials begging for money to
“save the children” who are starving in the world, etc, etc. The
punch line of the ad was one of the lines she used in those
commercials. The ad from Sun (essentially announcing Solaris 7)
read just like this (in about 150+ point type):

Thinking of running your critical apps on NT?

Isn’t there enough world suffering? [picture of Ms
Struthers]

The small print reads:

INTRODUCING SOLARIS 7. THE SOFTWARE ENVIRONMENT FOR THE NETWORK
AGE. Put an end to the torment of NT and bring inner peace to your
life.

(Additional text removed)

So, please, joing the fight against NT, and make this world (or
at least your business) a more liveable place for everyone.
