“Following the project kick-off in October 1998, the first
milestone was achieved in May 2000. This milestone involved
Siemens’ payments to its some 130,000 retired staff being handled
in SAP R/3 4.5B. By the end of 2001, the data for around 70,000
Siemens AG staff from all different departments was merged
seamlessly in the SBS data center.“The entire application, complete with a total of about 400,000
data records (staff and retired employees), will be operated
centrally at SBS in Munich by the end of 2002. The Group is aiming
to manage some 50 million data records each year in this way. The
new system will be used by the Siemens HR organization’s some 2,000
users, based in more than 90 HR departments. The system is based on
mySAP HR software, the Linux operating system, and the Primecluster
product suite along with the Primergy server series from Fujitsu
Siemens Computers (FSC). Once the rollout is complete, job
applications will also be processed in mySAP HR…”
