Designed by Microsoft, Hyper-V is a native hypervisor that’s installed by default in various Windows flavors, including Windows 10 Pro, Windows 8 Pro, Windows Hyper-V Server 2012, and Windows Server 2008 or newer, and it’s also available on the Microsoft Azure enterprise-grade cloud computing platform. The CentOS developer behind the new CentOS Vagrant images for the Hyper-V provider thinks Hyper-V is a good alternative to VirtualBox for those using the Vagrant open-source software for building and maintaining portable virtual software development environments professionally on Windows hosts.
