KDE Plasma 5.6.5 is the last maintenance release for the KDE Plasma 5.6 desktop environment series, and we have no idea if the Kubuntu team is planning on moving forward and upgrade to the soon-to-be-released KDE Plasma 5.7. However, if you’re using Kubuntu 16.04 LTS, you can now upgrade to the KDE Plasma 5.6.4 desktop environment and KDE Frameworks 5.23.0 (includes the latest versions of the default KDE apps) by following the next instructions carefully.
