that Microsoft confirms
that some Windows 95 and 98 systems will stop responding after
exactly 49.7 days of continuous operation. They have posted a
preliminary fix for the bug..

Microsoft would not (or could not) elaborate on how many users
are affected, why the glitch occurs, or when a reliable fix will be
available.
