Computer Currents: WordPerfect for Linux Bug

“Users of WordPerfect 8 for Linux, take note: There’s a fly in
the ointment. Unless you’re working on a non-networked computer, a
recently discovered bug could allow unwanted access to your
files.”

“The problem: By replacing your standard WordPerfect 8 temporary
files with symbolic links to files on another computer, someone
else could gain access to your data. That’s be cause Word Perfect
8, if installed as a root application, won’t detect the symbolic
links, but will follow them and use the remote linked files as
temporaries, overwriting them with your working data.”
