Techweb: Appliances Provide Storage, Net Connectivity

“A few new server appliances have come on the scene as vendors
introduce file servers and devices for hooking workgroups up to the
Internet.”

“Cobalt Networks said Monday it plans later this month to ship
the Cobalt Qube 2”

“The Qube 2 will dial out to the Internet automatically, or
users can connect it to an external Internet connection. The system
supports up to 10.2 GB of disk storage, with a high-speed serial
port for connectivity to modems or routers. It supports e-mail
filtering and the Apache 1.3 Web server and runs the Linux
